  Sungai Buntong

Sungai Buntong starts it’s route from Taman Kledang Emas with condition of river water being clean and relatively clear. Identified starting point of Sg Buntong was very clear and has abundant aquatic life; however in less than 50 m, rubbish can be seen floating along it. The main source of pollution was identified as from the domestic waste along the housing area.

For Sg Buntong, the pollution was primarily caused by residents’ attitude at the housing area, where the rubbish were dumped into the channelized river. From verbal understanding and consultation with DID Kinta, fish sellers by the road sides were also contributing to the pollution source as the left-over dead fishes and the contaminated water were dumped into the existing river system.
