GEC and Local Community Sungai Way have organised it first talk and training with the local community from Block 2 of Desa Mentari on the 3rd of March 2011. The training programme focus on how to reduce waste from kitchen and monitor water quality of Sg Way. Participated by twenty one peoples whereby 10 of them are housewifes. There were trained on how to recycle organic waste, process waste cooking oil into hand soap and water quality testing using simple technique. It is a successfull event although the turnout seems lower than expected but the support is very positive. GEC's also was asked to organise a similar event in next coming month involving a bigger group.
