  Ongoing Initiatives

The ongoing initiatives under the W.A.T.E.R. Project in Sungai Selangor focus on strengthening community participation in river conservation through a combination of environmental restoration, capacity building, and community-led activities. These initiatives aim to promote sustainable river management while creating opportunities for local communities to actively contribute to the protection and improvement of their surrounding environment.

Key initiatives include the establishment and enhancement of community gardens to encourage sustainable food production and green spaces, the refurbishment of community halls to serve as hubs for environmental education and community engagement, and regular river health monitoring to empower community members in assessing and safeguarding the condition of local waterways. Additional activities such as environmental awareness programmes, volunteer events, clean-up campaigns, and educational workshops will also be carried out to foster environmental stewardship and strengthen long-term community ownership of river conservation efforts.
